We know it: neither gas nor oil will satisfy basic food needs! However, isn't Africa's great challenge its food security? "This is the essence of the Initiative for the Adaptation of African Agriculture to Climate Change, known as the "AAA Initiative", which we promoted at COP22. It is an innovative and extremely concrete response to the common challenges posed by climate change."

The AAA Initiative is based on the instruments recommended by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change: technology transfer, preparation of adapted agricultural policies and strategies, setting up "bankable" projects that meet the criteria of development partners and donors, and promotion of South-South cooperation.

The 3rd Annual Ministerial Conference of the AAA Initiative will take place on 4 May 2023, on the sidelines of the International Agricultural Exhibition in Meknes, Morocco: African Ministers of Agriculture will meet to provide strategic guidance to the AAA Initiative to promote and pursue efforts to strengthen the adaptation of African agriculture to climate change as a key priority for the economic and social development of the continent.
